Day 20: HERCULANEUM

Today we had another (deliberately planned) lazy morning, got ready and got to the central station in Naples just before midday… Only to find the service workers there were on strike until just after 1pm and there were no other ways for us to buy the tickets we needed.

We therefore decided to explore the shops in the station and get some lunch to kill some time before getting the train.

Also we found a whole crowd of decorated Mickey Mouse’s in the middle of the station – so cute and reminded us of our Disney trip in Paris!

Day 17: 26,000 steps around Rome

Today we woke up again around 9am and headed down for another sugary breakfast!! We then planned our route for the day as there were many monuments that we wanted to see dotted around Rome and our aim was to walk the whole route and not take the metro!

Day 16: When in Rome..

Today we had a nice lie in till 9am and woke up, got ready and headed down for some breakfast given by our hostel – we went down and had the most sugar coated doughnut, pastries and a hot drink. A perfect sugar boost to help us to have enough energy for the day!

We then set off on our adventure with our first stop on the list being the Colloseum, however instead of getting the metro we decided to explore a bit more of the town by walking. This allowed us to see so many beautiful buildings and sights  along the way including the Piazza della Repubblica… Continue reading

Day 15: ROME

Today we packed up and checked out of our little bungalow in Venice which we loved! It was nice to have some privacy after sharing many dorms in the other cities!

We then put our bags into the luggage store room and headed back out to the pool to spend our last few hours in Venice relaxing and sunbathing. Continue reading

Day 14: VENICE

After a really nice sleep in our own bungalow we took the shuttle from our hostel into the Tronchetto and took a water taxi into central Venice to St Mark’s square. We had amazing views on the way over!

Once we had arrived we went straight to St Mark’s square and were amazed by the detail on St Mark’s Basilica and how gorgeous the little canals and streets were! Continue reading
